Up Close and Fungal
This is a close-up of Hygrocybe coccinea, the Scarlet Waxcap, showing off its undies. I had the foresight to bring it home from yesterday's workshop to practise using a key we were given.
The weather today is grim - wet, dull, and worst of all, windy. I hope it picks up as I have 5 forays in the next 6 days. Today's supper is Butternut Squash and Chestnut Soup, using the chestnuts we collected in Suffolk, and I've also made Sloe Gin from berries collected on our holiday too. A suitable short term and longer term reminder of the brilliant time we had.
I'll be braving the outdoors to go to my art class tonight. I have to get all the way from my front door to the car, and car to studio, then back again.
