...Rio de Janeiro. For three months, we have watched this structure take shape on the beach in front of the Copacabana Palace Hotel. An incredible effort, involving dozens of workers and massive amounts of framework. Back in August, we asked a workman what it was all in aid and heard it was for a one-night show to be held in October. Not quite the case - seems it was the scene of a 5-day technology conference. What an investment - can it possibly be justified? Still, at least the umbrellas added a touch of colour for the last week or so.
