Sunset skies over Arran
Another favourite view, taken about half an hour before the sun actually sank below the hills of Bute; we were just arriving back at the car by then. I chose this from a selection of lovely sky-and-sea-scapes from today because of that great puff of cumulus with the golden light on it, and the clarity of the Arran mountains beyond the dip in the skyline of Bute.
A perfectly still afternoon in which we could hear the cows tearing at the grass and curlews warbling in their lonely way - an afternoon of such calm sea that the regular passage of the Rothesay ferry produced waves that sounded like a storm.
