Teddy's tea party
I slept well in Leicester and was up having a nice sit down breakfast with S and co. by 9am.
It was chilly (5C) and misty on the road, needing fogs lights for a while. I did a quick Waitrose run on the way home as I needed some dairy-free ingredients to make some savoury scones for Teddy's first birthday tea party later today. I also stopped at some ornate gates outside Towcester to photograph the dew laden spiders webs that were evident everywhere showing up well in the mist.
When I got home I (rather belatedly) delivered the October church news pamphlet to a few houses in the village, made the scones and watched the Saints v Sale matched recorded yesterday while wrapping pressies and writing cards. I also enjoyed a delicious lunch of home made veggie soup and ciabatta...
There were nine of us family members celebrating Teddy's first birthday with a lovely tea party. He sat in his high chair holding court at the head of the table, flanked by Grandma and Granddad. We had a lovely time and here he is reading his cards, just before tasting them for the first time! We also managed to Skype with C in Aus and N and C in Kenya, which was a bonus. Teddy tried to touch them on the screen and managed to wave and blow some raspberries, before trying to eat the iPad. What else!
I'm home now for some admin and a quiet night in.
