A busy old day

Phew!

It started early as I had some work to do and then, at 09.00 I got ready for a half marathon. This was Jemma and Scott's first half marathon and I promised to eat a couple of crumpets and drink tea in support. I also watched their progress on an app and sent encouraging texts (mentioning crumpets) as they went. Both finished in good times and - more importantly from my point of view - in one piece. This was the first part of a sponsored challenge and the second part is a full marathon in Brighton next year.

Then, with barely a pause for breath (okay, an hour or so later and after I'd spoken to Jemma - it seems that burger and chips form part of the training regime so I might be limbering up after all...) I went and collected Cal for his birthday lunch. His birthday was a few weeks ago but since we're both go-getting lads about town this was the earliest date that his people and my people could arrange. We went for a traditional Wagamamamamamamamamama's in town; neither of us have visited this one before. We hit the dumplings hard and I went chilli squid too along with rather tasty mains. All up a jolly nice time.

I'm back home now and I think a cheeky sofa snoozle beckons.
