The beginning of the end on an era.

First race of the Sheffield Schools' Cross Country season - High Hazels Park. This season will be Josh's last school season. He started running school xc in Y4, when he was 8 years old. He will be 18 at the end of this season.

A decade on I still love watching him - in spite of the mud and rain that often accompanies the experience! Always a big crowd of people, faithful Hallamshire Harriers coaches that turn up every week and invest their time in the kids, committed teachers turning up in all weathers to cheer on their pupils, we've both made new friends & great atmosphere. Win, win, even when he loses!

Great school xc career - run for Sheffield 5 times and South Yorkshire 5 times (the maximum) Will he manage to make it 6 this season? He came 2nd today - so far so good.

Will miss these Saturday mornings........ unless Rebekah takes it up! (Not much chance, although she once came 12th in XC City Championships at Junior School!)
