Ferry cancelled

The MV Isle of Lewis lies tied up at Stornoway due to a northeasterly gale. Weather here is not as bad as elsewhere in Scotland, but it still feels freezing cold. Although our ferry is capable of making the crossing in a force 8, the wind direction causes heavy swells in the Minch. Once on the mainland, the main route to Inverness is closed today due to snow on moorland section of the A835.
