Today I was finally able to experience fishing in a boat out in the Gulf & let me tell y'all, it's a game changer for me. We went out about 9 miles to an active oil rig and tired up to it. It was amazing to see the water change colors the further we got out, from stained green, to green green, then turquoise, and finally blue. Crystal clear blue water as far as the eyes could see.

After we tied up to the rig and got our baits in the water, eventually my buddy's reel started to scream as the fish was taking line from him. He set hook and started the fight with the fish sitting about 100+ feet below him. Sadly he got cut off and didn't get to see what he was fighting.

The same goes for me when I hooked up to my fish. That was easily the biggest fish I had ever fought, to feel the weight and the sheer power behind him.
More than likely we were both fighting sharks in the 5 foot & up category.

I know we will be back next weekend to claim our revenge.
