A glimpse to the past

This old stable was built in 1811. Almost two hundred years old it must have seen some some fine and interesting sights over the years. The octagonal tower is very unusual. The horses and stable hands are long gone, but the drains are still there and the cobbled floor still leads the way out of the door and into the grounds of the big house. Being relatively close to the city, it has suffered at the hands of vandals and there is now much graffiti on the walls. It's not all doom and gloom though and the rubber johnny's lying about are proof that there is still some fun to be had in a stable block.

My 'kick sampling' with SEPA was cancelled because of the sudden rise in water levels caused by the fast snow melt and then the continuous rain for the last 24 hours. Ah well...........

This months magazines are full of the importance of having a 50mm 1.8 lens. "The best £80 you will ever spend" is as far as one of them went! What do you think? As another pay day approaches I took the plunge and ordered Adobe Photoshop yesterday. Never used it, so more studying on the horizon. First though I have to continue my revision for my 'Association of District Salmon Fishery Boards' examination in Dumfries in 2 or 3 weeks time.
