Cardwell Bay, Gourock

We've been staying with my parents since Wednesday here in Gourock on the west coast of Scotland. Mum recently ruptured her achilles tendon and on Tuesday she was in hospital to have it repaired. She is to be non weight bearing and on crutches for up to 10 weeks which is quite a challenge for an albeit very fit 72 year old. Anyone who knows Gourock can tell you that it is built on the side of a hill on the Clyde estuary and the house where my parents live is high on the hill with a steep drive and several steps. We've been helping dad with chores and trouble shooting the many and varied challenges which have arisen. Heading home tomorrow and keeping fingers crossed they will be ok on their own!
