Through a tunnel on the Shropshire Union Canal at Ellesmere.
Mr T hasn't gone gliding this weekend so we've had a whole day together. We drove to Ellesmere, about 20 odd miles from home, and walked a fair way along the canalside - the first obstacle on our walk was to bend low (both being very tall) though this tunnel, where luckily a narrowboat was just coming through. Out of the tunnel there was bright sunshine for the rest of our walk. The Autumn colours were stunning and I know that T would have preferred viewing them from the air but he had to indulge me in my 'guilty pleasure' of walking and taking the odd photo, or two!!
On our walk we also encountered the 'local Shoot' in a field next to the canal - accompanied by lots of gunfire (thought Dad's Army were on exercise!!) we witnessed Pheasants flying through the air one minute and dropping all around us and in the canal too and then Spaniels and Labs diving in to do a great retrieving job.
At the end of our walk the skies all around were stacked with towering cumulus and blackness but we just got back to Ellesmere before the heavens opened big time and got safely ensconced in The Boathouse to enjoy cake and a cuppa; the later arrivals were very soggy looking!
