The journey home

I decided to take a cross country on the way home from the Lakes today and was delighted with the Landscape of the Northern Pennines which I traversed from Penrith to Alston. The stretch from Melmerby to Leadgate is particularly wonderful especially as I had never travelled this along this route previously. My blip was taken just after I had passed over the summit of Hartside. In fact the whole journey was enlivened by the autumn colours and patches of sunshine. At one point I strayed off my planned route and near Kirkwhelpington. ended up travelling through a gated road but that all added to the sense of adventure.
