Small White
I saw this Small White fly over the garden wall and alight in our dogwood but once I got out there with my camera it took my five minutes to find it in the bush, such was the effectiveness of its camouflage. This is the latest I've seen one in the garden.
Later I popped down to the graveyard, where I found five Red Admirals feasting on ivy flowers, and the community garden, where there were another couple of Red Admirals and a single Small Tortoiseshell.
This mild October is continuing to extend our usual butterfly season and I'll make the most of it while I can.
