Eyes Wide Open

In continuing yesterday's theme, this time I'm observing a plate on a wall.
Normally I don't notice them as they generally have designs of boats
and cities and stuff that I'm not interested in seeing... on a plate.
... this one struck me as a bold departure from the norm!
I couldn't tell if the eyes were meant to be open or shut
Plus, how anyone could think of eating off of this, is beyond me...lol
