It's all go in Seaford.
After the quirky charms of the Brighton art scene yesterday, back to reality. This refers to the huge task of shovelling shingle onto the beach to protect the sea wall, and seafront road, from the winter storms. It is not without its critics. Some councillors (who possibly did not live here before the scheme started) want it discontinued and the old sandy beach - revealed for a while last February - restored. More here. The Environment Agency is looking at the cost. Frankly, I think it would be madness.
