Surprise.....

Elizabeth is 6 on Monday and she said she wanted a surprise birthday party....

These aren't easy to organise at the best of times, especially when the guest of honour is in the know from the start. However it really was a surprise as in the meantime she had settled for the traditional party, with all her little friends, tomorrow instead.

But when she arrived home from swimming lessons this morning she found all the relatives (from great grandparents down) assembled amid balloons and party goodies. She was actually quite overcome for a few minutes. Here she is blowing out the candles with help from Adelaide and Hugh, and her second cousins Olivia and Zach (who also happen to be the grandchildren of my sister, 59).

I think it's a pretty good effort from Bec to put on TWO parties with her fourth child only just 3 weeks old.
