AUCTION:
The price of land in Wanaka ! Diagonally across from me, on Beacon Point Road & Atherton Place is a beautiful, one acre section with uninterrupted views of the lake & mountains. It was owned by an elderly man from Melbourne who died in January, so the family put it on the market, & it was sold by auction this morning. It was knocked down for $1.425.000 ! There were two keen bidders.
In the bottom right hand corner, you will see a white metal name tag on the rhododendron. These are old metal Venetian blinds, which I cut up, punch a hole in one end, & tie on with strips from panty hose. I then print the name on with an engraver. Nearly all my trees & shrubs in the garden have these name tags. Sounds a lot of work but was well worth the effort. This Rhodo is Unknown Warrior. A truly beautiful day.
