Smashy smashy

Intense day teaching: A little weirded out (found a student stroking my scarf in intimidating pervy way) and a lot enlightened (deep chat about the chaotic nature of existence, the calm forbearance of daily conduct that makes that bearable as well as determinist Marxism vs open Marxism).

Finally had that chat with the boss to say I'm not coping and can I bring my hours down. Seemed to go well... But her skin did flash red the way it does when she is angry. It's possible her superiors may decide to end my contract early. But so it goes.. ready for that.

Also this, some anarchist blue peter stuff - my friend hg's performance art piece at the Arches live festival about constructing out of cardboard the buildings you hate the most as a critique of urban planning. Together we made a city then bashed the whole thing to a pulp. Smashy smashy.

My flatmate came too and we both regenerated our urban buzzes with glue, crepe paper, felt pens, plasticine and glitter.

On the train home two drunk commuting suburbians attempted to chat us up with snobbish references to where they live and how awful independence would have been. I mean look at the new mansion tax and stamp duty, am I right? One (a weirdly wrinkled water damaged steve buscemi) attempted to explain all 4 pro Yes constituencies to me. He manifestly missed the timbre of sarcastic astonishment I emitted to deflect his mansplaining. They were odd, and kinda horrible - really keen to establish where I was from, really, really, really? in order to determine my race, class, religion etc.. . Made us laugh though. I got H laughing very hard afterwards, makes a change from me being the one in hysterics.

In other news, flights booked for BCN trip in December as first part of scholarship money came through. In for a penny...

and yes I chose the Cineworld building - it blocks my view of the hills and sky and is a shiny identikit monstrosity (and tallest multiplex in the Uk - or someit)
