Eeugh!

I sincerely apologise that this isn't a proper blip but it does kind of sum up my day.

A chimney sweep came today (£55) and told me that my splendid chimney (£8k) doesn't pass safety standards. The insurance company (£700 pa) told me I waited too long to have the chimney built (7 weeks) so they won't pay for the interior damage. Airbnb won't give me a refund (£700) they charged me for an apartment I didn't stay in. The chimney sweep broke a window, the window cleaner put his wet squeegee on my cherry wood desk. The dishwasher won't drain and the engineer (£100) didn't show during his 5 hour window, I spent an hour on hold and he still didn't show up.

On the upside the handyman finished painting the garage (£80), my teeth passed the dental check up (£40) and I have the first draft of my essay.

So to sum up, I have spent (or nearly spent) £8925 for a chimney that won't allow fires, a dishwasher that won't wash dishes, an apartment I've never seen or will see, and insurance policy that covers me for nothing. Plus I have to fix the window and the desk which were both fine this morning. But at least my garage looks fresh and I have nice teeth.

To cap it all... When googling 'dishwasher cleaner' I discovered a poo knife. For the love of God!!! I shudder to think what Amazon recommendations I'd get if I bought such a thing. Who does buy these dreadful items???
