Seeing the Detail
I took this picture of the Japanese Maple in Mum and Dad's garden when the last of the evening sun was shining through it and showing up the intricate detail of the leaf structure. In the setting sun, the maple looks as though it's on fire and makes an eye-catching focal point in the garden. It was a tranquil evening after another hectic day.
We took Dad to the Colchester General Hospital for a CT scan of his lungs today, and hopefully this will show up the detail of what's making his left lung membrane clog up with fluid, which is making it difficult for him to breathe. It was all a bit of an ordeal for him, as he cannot currently walk more than a handful of steps without gasping for air. We have all been yawning this evening, and Mum has already gone to bed. The chest specialist doctor rang when we got home from the CT scan to tell us that Dad is to go in and have the fluid drained on Wednesday afternoon. This will help make him more comfortable, while the fluid is to be sent for analysis.
I'll be popping home tomorrow for the night, to drop off and pick up a few things, and will return to Mum and Dad's on Sunday to continue helping them until the fluid draining procedure on Wednesday.
