Miserable is the word.

The day started off with horizontal snow. Such a delightful commute.

Around lunchtime the snow changed to rain. And that's how it stayed for the rest of the day. Miserable from start to finish.

The young lad selling the Evening News at Haymarket always looks a bit miserable. I don't think today's weather would have helped.
