Jim

After the anti-climax of yesterday, I returned to the allotment again today. A day with big billowy clouds and really bright sunshine.

For the first couple of minutes or so I saw no one, but as I took the main service road, nearer towards the reservoir and to my right, I saw a bloke in a cardigan. I took a cut to his glasshouse and introduced myself. I was speaking to Jim who had just filled a tupperware box with raspberries. His passion was fruit and veg. He'd had his allotment for 28 years though he only had the one shed. His shed was a place so cluttered there was barely standing room for two. In there, Jim pointed to a box lined in an off-white soft material where his cat kipped. I said I found the interiors of potting sheds amazing. They so weren't your average living room. Jim chuckled in agreement.
