Bright and early to Heathrow and met Izzy and family. All went smoothly and they didn't seem to be too jet lagged after the long haul across the Atlantic. It was really nice to finally meet Izzy's parents and after a chat they went off for a weekend adventure in London while we headed back to Oxfordshire with Izzy. Before coming home we detoured to Wittenham Clumps to give Izzy an overview of our bit of the county as I thought the view from the motorway was a less than perfect introduction to the place. Kit and Izzy wandering into the landscape seemed an appropriate subject for today's picture. Luckily the stormy weather had subsided and we had a beautiful if bracing day for it with the odd rain pregnant cloud serving as dramatic accent to the scene, however a work crew out on one of the lanes pumping water and soil off of it and the sight of the Thames flooding the water meadows near Dorchester seemed rather a warning of things to come this winter.
Picked Kit's mum up from the station on her way back from a couple of days in London, unfortunately she was in agony with abdominal pain probably from more adhesions, very disheartening this soon after the major abdominal surgery she underwent a few weeks ago. Her train journey must have been miserable. After doping her with her pain meds and applying heat pads it eventually subsided enough for her to go home. Very worrying.
