Not my typical blip

Apple and pear cake.

I decided to make a cake this afternoon as there were some apples and pears that needed using up. This is my first cake, though of course I've eaten hundreds of them. I was horrified by the amount of butter and sugar I used. It may have said 'serves 8' on the recipe but I was used to eating half of the wife's cake in a day.

I've heard something about 'Bake-off' on TV. I wish to point out that my baking was in no way influenced by anything in the media and was my own independent idea.
