Looking across the English Dockyard, near Falmouth

A natural port, formed in the flooded caldera of a volcano. It provides shelter from hurricanes and so was chosen to house the British fleet from the eighteenth century. Also called Nelson's Dockyard, as the man spent 3 years here as a captain, enforcing the trade ban against the newly independent US. Worth a visit.
