the long and unwinding road

a trot along the Murray with the girls this morning...I kept up with them on the mt bike (they are perfecting the 5min/km pace - not a starting pace) but I had a go at it & managed 2x 500m at their speed....then was happy to finish with coffee in the sun discussing flute medius & its role for a runner.

Packed the car with what I had collected (think wine & tupperware) before heading off for a few more quick jobs & one last visit/catch up.

What a fabulous few days. It reminded me of everything I loved about living out there..the people, the weather, the river, the food. I look forward to returning in about 6months time for another whirlwind tour.

Soon after driven gout of Mildura the horizon flattens out & looks much like this for some 450km across the Mallee, the Hay Plain & reaching in the the MIA before the horizon begins to undulate toward Narrandera. The dust on the windscreen, the bugs on the grill - all part of the driving this far, to the other side of the state.
Overnight in Wagga, thanks to Renae & Roh..
