St John's Gate, Clerkenwell

This is the third discovery I've made whilst working in Farringdon: The Museum of the Order of St John, where the St John Ambulance originated. It dates from 1504, yet is surrounded now on all sides by newer buildings.

Yesterday I worked hard but with the knowledge that I was about to have 4 days off, so I was feeling quite cheerful by the end of the day. The high police presence at the Underground stations reflected the unsettled state of the world at the moment.
