Waking up

Callum has been sedated and on the ventilator for a while, which isn't good for him, so they reduced the sedation today, and he was well on the way to waking up by the time I headed for Arran this afternoon - you can see his wee arms going here. They had a different sedative in reserve in case he got very unhappy or started pulling out tubes - hmmm, might well be used then! His lungs have had lots of gunk sucked out of them, and his breathing was better, and as he woke up and fought the ventilator the settings were changed so that he triggers the breaths, rather than the machine telling him when to breathe, he doesn't like to be forced into anything! Tiny steps, but in the right direction. Lovely to be back down on Arran with Mum, Ross and Abi.
