Wartime Pickering

On another wander around Pickering noticed how the flags are out as everyone gears up for the forthcoming weekend.

This couple are already enjoying attention dressed as wartime civilians. I like the way the Tea Shop is cashing in by offering Red Cross parcels for £5 (packed lunch to thee and me). The charity shops have raked out anything to do with the war as well as specialised traders setting up stalls.

Couldn't resist adding a vintage look to the photograph. Tomorrow we are heading north to Edinburgh to a Race the Castles orienteering event. Looking forward to a new challenge.
