Changing the world

I have had happy reminders today about why the UK is an amazing country. I started the day at the virus centre at Glasgow vet school talking to two researchers about their next research programme application; then on to Gartnavel to hear about improving the lives of patients with CML and finally to the Beatson to see our Trials Acceleration Programme lead and see just why we are so lucky to have the NHS .Outstanding facilities, wonderful staff who create a warm and positive atmosphere for very sick cancer patients. I'm not ashamed to say that the Teenage Cancer Unit brought a lump to my throat. Inspirational day.
