Camel Transport

Last night and today have been very good, as has the whole trip.
Yesterday evening a few of us went Turtle Watching at Ras al Jinz, an hours drive from the Arabian Sea Motel.
Fantastic, we saw a lot more turtles than we had expected.
1 laying eggs
2 covering up their eggs
4 coming out of the water to drag themselves up the beach to lay their eggs. We weren't allowed to take photographs but I have some from 45 years ago.
I swear I recognised one of the turtles as one that we had lifted back into the sea when it was too exhausted to make the journey itself. That was 45 years ago so I'll forgive the turtle for forgetting me.

Today we were up at 0530, breakfast and off in the coach at 0700. Stopped at the Wahibi sand dunes to take photographs and off again to Sana'ah to catch the ferry.
I took so many photographs, including one of my foot going onto the ground in Masirah for the first time in 45 years to the month.

Couldn't resist blipping the camel in the back of the Toyota pickup, a common way to transport one or two camels in the Middle East but it always makes me smile, they look so contented.

Had a large lunch at 1430 so have decided to skip dinner and have a walk down town Hilf, which was a collection of oil drums, card, fabric, anything they could ge their hands on to make shelter. It's a long story as to why they didn't have permanent dwellings so I'll leave it for another time.
