Carrick Hill House

Sight-seeing, as it is school holidays.

We took the kids +1 (Hanna's friend) for a walk around this 40 hectare property. The gardens are vast and beautiful. We will visit the house some other time, as everybody was hungry and we brought no picnic with us.

The whole estate was bequeathed to the state when the owner passed away in 1983. You can read about the history here. As with a lot of things in Australia, it is not that old and even my own house is older, just not as grand.
