A birdy sort of day.......
Today was a lovely day - sunny, calm and about 19 degrees C - beautiful Spring day.
We had lots of extreme gardening to do around the little cottage at our small farm in Karridale - brush cutting, mowing, weeding, fertilising the few grape vines and slashing the grass on the track in.
Because it was such a sunny day and lots of gardening happening, little birds came from everywhere - silver eyes, honey eaters, white robins, fantails, willy wagtails, wrens and this little cute male scarlet robin.
The birds love the bottle brush trees which are in full red flower at the moment.
This lovely foto of the scarlet robin is taken for my son Matt's birthday today. Matt is a scientist at the University of London. Happy Birthday Matt!
Looked up the difference between the Aussie Robin and the English Robin - interestingly they are quite similar even though a long way apart.
