I have a feeling this would have been far, far better if i could be bothered to go outside to take this. Instead I plonked the camera on the tripod in the kitchen and aimed it out of the closed window.
I was at the sink to get some water when I saw that the clouds looked like shallow rippled water and the chimney stack looked stark and black against them. By the time I got my camera, screwed in the quick release for the tripod, unfurled the tripod and pointed it in the right direction the lovlier clouds had blown over. I lurked in the kitchen hoping hat nicer clouds would come but, alas, none did.
