LOVE ALASKA

LOVE ALASKA - it's what the sign says on the other side of the Chena River! It's not hard to love the place either - it's so beautiful and wild. I was standing on one side of what is in winter Fairbank's Ice Bridge, which spans the river when it's iced over. You can see the beginning of this winter's ice beginning to form. The cold temperatures needed to ice over a river of this size must be very very cold. It was -9C again today and I was finding it a tad chilly; it's going to get colder soon.
