Opening Clouds in the Evening Sky
After a day of doing the sorting out work to prepare our coming removal to Carlsheaven, I had to break out and have some fresh air at the seaside. It had been drizzling throughout the greatest part of this Wednesday and again rather stormy. I took my backpack and cycled to the small boulevard nearby. A change of habit would perhaps give another vista, depending on the specific conditions over there.
On arrival it was still raining and windy. Nonetheless the temperature was pleasant and again I hesitated to have a short swim. But now it was the rain that withheld me. I saw a pair of walkers down along the surfline, heavily clothed and I thought: “Perhaps tomorrow earlier on the day, but not now while the evening almost falls..You don’t have anything to prove here..”
As I wanted to turn back home, the clouds were opening in the South and a pyramid of sunrays was beaming from the sky over the Zandmotor Peninsula. The sea was reflecting a silver licht, but only far away. Nearby it stayed dark, and the rain did not stop. Then I made todays photo from an elevated standpoint. And then turning around I saw the biggest and clearest Rainbow, I can remember from the last twenty years.
The left foot was broad and so clear that it was cutting through a deserted beach pavilion a bit further to the North. But it really looked as if you could walk down and touch it. From there it made a complete bough over the entire city to the East. Too big for my Samsung frame, but also the most amazing cosmic smile I received the last time. You do not always have to brave the elements in order to participate in the self revelation of the universe.
