Butterfly

My son and I watched found a monarch caterpillar in our flower garden. We watched it as it turned into a chrysalis and then waited for the butterfly to emerge. Just a couple of hours before it emerged, we clipped the branch it was hanging on and put it into a bug house. Since it was going to be very cold that evening, we brought the butterfly into the house while the wings unfolded. The next morning was warm enough to release the butterfly into the garden. I was able to get this picture before we put it onto a flower.
