Double Trouble

We went to Oceanside to "have a walkabout", as my husband phrases it. One of the local harbor restaurants had advertised fresh crab legs flown in from Alaska, so we stopped in for some dinner after our walk. I had forgotten how deliciously tender the crab meat is, and also the effort that goes along with getting to it. We split a pound, which wasn't as much as you would think, considering that the weight includes the exoskeleton.
These pelicans at the pier were very obliging to pose for today's blip. Their coloring is slightly different, so I'm not sure if that indicates a different species or a different gender. I'm sure someone out there will know the answer.
