Had a bash at writing some Applescripts for the first time today. I need to change some settings (like turn off airport and route the sound differently) when I use the macbook for recording with my new firewire gizmo and the scripts seem like the best way to do this.

I'm resigned to the fact that I will probably spend a few hours trying to get something to work that will end up saving me maybe 15 seconds each time I set the thing up. If I'm lucky. (-Maybe economists should study the irrationality of this common geek phenomenon- whereby the time taken to achieve some inane thing is inversely proportionate to the benefit of the end result.
