Shaggy Dog

I haven’t taken any pictures of dogs primarily because I don’t have one, but also because I haven’t really seized the opportunity when they have been around.

Today was my bridge lesson, and our hostess has a very sweet-natured dog named Riley. It was a challenge to get him to sit for me because he only wanted to get very close for petting. Finally with some assistance from his owner, he sat for a treat - but really only had eyes for that.

He is a large Labradoodle, a cross between a standard poodle and a Labrador Retriever. His color is a dark auburn and what looks like gray hairs are actually lighter highlights.

So here is Riley, au naturel and quite shaggy, my first pet portrait.
