A Cactus Flower, Gone But Not Forgotten

I was certainly not expecting to see anything bloom this late in the year so I missed this cholla flower when it was open.

It's been pretty humid these last few days and a little warmer than average so maybe that was just enough to get a bud to form. What ever the reason, it was nice to see a bit of the deep pink at this time of year.

I'll keep an eye open but I would be shocked to see any others.
