A Day to Remember

Our electricity suddenly started to trip out this morning. I soon isolated the problem to the outside power circuits, with immediate suspicion falling on the septic tank pump.
As I had a spare for just such occasions, it was a small matter of switching them over.
However the down side was that as I have neglected to desludge the buffer tank for a few years, I had no option but to descend into its murky depths with a bucket and shovel. Not helped by the recent storm having blown off the decrepit lid and filling the tank with leaves.
Could have been worse; usually the sewers back-up when the pump fails, but this time the earth leakage trips gave an early warning. Even so, a strip-off of all clothing and a shower were essential!
