New Roof for the Mack
A temporary roof is currently being installed on the fire-damaged Mackintosh Building of The Glasgow School of Art.
This is one of the metal framed sections being hoisted into place with the assistance of a giant crane. White protective panels will then be fitted, keeping the Mackintosh building wind and watertight over the winter months.
The combination of 15 metal sections could be in place around the building for up to three years.
The Grade-A listed structure has dried out over the summer since fire crews battled to contain a blaze on 23 May.
The GSA is hoping to raise £20m to restore the iconic building.
