up early

Yesterdays fantastic end to the day must have continued into the night - we awoke this morning to the first hard frost of the year - the grass crunched as I walked across it - fantastic.
Wrapped up warm it seemed sensible to head out early* with pooch & take in a longer route - the first time this year a hat has felt necessary rather than nice - we made our way up onto the scar & then back through the village & round Orton Hall.
I'd fully intended to blip some nice crisp shots of frost - indeed some of them have given me ideas for later in the year - but when I plugged in the sd card to load up todays shots I was struck by the shafts of light on this & the way it so neatly matches yesterdays shots.

* A wise choice - writing this later in the day I'm back to listening to an oh so familiar drumming sound on the office roof.
