Distant Polesden

Most blips of Polesden Lacey are close views of the elegant Edwardian mansion or its gardens. From this distance it is hardly recognisable. Just imagine the view from the house! I hadn't walked this far. I was in a very narrow lane in the countryside beyond the Polesden Lacey estate, wandering about in the car because I have been indoors for too many days.

It has been a sunny but chilly day. Normous has been working hard in the garden, digging over a flower bed that we are going to have to abandon because it has just got too infested with bindweed and I can't cope with it any more. It has had one dose of a strong weedkiller and eventually will be grassed over. Sad, because it has been a lovely feature of the garden in its time.
