Mean Manapouri

A busy day today in the best possible sense. I have good friends down from Murch for a couple of days(the mountain goats) This morning S and I went for a swim and then we decided to head out for a drive and walk. They are heading to Invercargill next so I took them in the opposite direction.
First stop was Lake Monowai for a wonderful stroll through the bush (alas no hills for R&S to climb) and then we headed to Te Anau for a coffee. On the way they mentioned that they had never seen Manapouri before so on the way back we stopped off so they could have a walk along the lake edge while I took some shots of the mean looking weather coming in. This shot was taken with the iPhone but hasn't been touched up at all, other than to crop the 'beach' out of it. Those clouds are REAL!
All that said we have generally had a fine day, windy at times and definitely cloudy with the odd bit of sun.
