Wet Morning Textures
Day 1 of the LPH Workshop broke with high winds and heavy rain. Even John "there's no such thing as bad weather" Gravett felt that photography in these conditions would not be pleasent, though the afternoon looked promising with the rain turning to showers!
So instead of landscapes, we headed over to Threkeld Mining Museum, which offered some shelter and an endless variety of old machinery with textures and patterns. The workshops reminded me of Dad's workshop - the smells, tools, machinery and old rags - though somewhat larger! I found this detail on something outside in one of the few intervals during the morning when the rain almost stopped.
However, after an almost civilised lunch in portacabin provided for visitors the sky started to clear to the East, so we headed over to Crummock Water and ended the day with blue skies, fluffy clouds and some to the lakeside/mountain vistas for which The Lakes are renown.
