Smooring the Fire

Very wet and windy start to the day, and it remained wet for most of the afternoon.
Due to the weather the shop was quiet which meant catching up on queries from Saturday.
Coming home this evening the sky was looking lovely the rain had stopped and the sun had begun to shine.
When I see the sky like this, I'm always reminded of my time on Lewis when my dispenser's granchild described such a sky as God smooring the peat fire.
I always thought this was such a lovely thought :-)
