Fennel seed

A morning in the office, initially to attend a meeting which was cancelled at short notice due to trains being disrupted by storms. Heard later from the same colleague who had been dumped of the train with me at Carlisle a couple of weeks back and was trying to make the same journey this afternoon that the train was being terminated at Carlisle again- this time due to a fallen tree rather than a fatality. It seems that the autumn weather has truly arrived.

We brought back so much stuff from the allotment yesterday that I forgot to get the fennel heads out of their bag. When I tipped them out on some paper today I found that we had hitch-hikers - a spider rushed about agitatedly and a few small critters started wandering around amongst the seeds. Mmm, fennel seed - love it!
