Softly as I Leave You...

Backblip

David was up at some ungodly time between 5am & 6am. He is always very considerate when heading off on his golfing weekend as he gets all his clothes organised and into our bathroom the night before so he disturbs me as little as possible. Sods law I was wide awake though. I did manage to fall back to sleep till 10am. Just as well Gill was coming in to get Alan up!

Ele arrived at 1.30 and we headed off to have lunch at a little deli in the town. Well if the men are away enjoying themselves, we're entitled to lunch out.

After a very lovely lunch we headed up to a well known local ladies boutique which I've only ever bought a scarf in A. Because that's about all I can afford in it and B. That's all that would fit me in it! It was their mid season sale though so Ele (with the figure of a woman half her age) was keen to have a nosey.

Oh my! Now that was a sale. There was a rail with outfits reduced from £1000 to £100 and £700 to £40. All very fancy though. Oh if only there was a wedding coming up that I was invited to (and far enough away to allow me to starve half my body weight away!) Ele saw an dress and jacket that would have been sensational on her. She was tempted to buy and and just pitch up at a local church next weekend in the hope there would be a wedding she could gate crash. In the end she settled for a tunic top that will look great at Christmas with thick tights and long boots. They didn't have any scarves that I liked so I saved myself a fortune.

Back home, got Alan's dinner done then Agnes arrived. Prosecco opened, our dinner made then an evening of chat and laughter.

In bed by 1.30 am so quite well behaved by recent standards.
